  • On Censorship...

    I was watching my beloved Grey's Anatomy last night (well, watching AND playing online..i might as well while i still have it, right?), and i thought i heard something that until now has been incongruous with regular network TV...i heard a woman use the term "F***ing"...seriously!  My head whipped around (because that totally caught my full attention) and my jaw simultaneously dropped to the floor.  Just to be sure, i asked my hubby who was also watching, "Did that woman just say "f***ing??" , to which he replied, "She sure the hexx DID!"  Both of us then sat and watched the rest...but i was unable to pay much attention to the rest of the show, because i was still freaking over the F-bomb being dropped on network TV.  I mean, this is one of the very reasons i do not miss having cable...i just really don't like hearing that word  coming out of what should be a harmless device.


    Ok, in all seriousness, i was considering giving up what has been my favourite show up til a few months ago, when Torrez and  that blonde chick-doctor started having a lesbian thingie goin' on. Sorry, peeps, but i don't wanna watch that crap when i am usually trying to eat my dinner. But this new turn of events is a bit more than i can take...epsecially considering i'm  trying to keep that crap OUT of my home!


    So, my question to you all is:
    What is your take on the censors taking the weekends off...obviously starting with Thursday nights? Are you as offended as i am?  What's YOUR cut-off point as to what's shown/heard on TV? Do you think the censors are right in being so liberal or do you think they need to get back on their sticks and crack that censor whip?  Come on, people, let me know!!

  • What's the best compliment you have ever gotten?

    Well, the first one that comes to mind is when my best friend (back in 1996) called me a skinny b****, lol...(i've always had a problem with my weight, so the "skinny"  outweighed the "B" part of the equation, plus i knew she meant it lovingly...lol!)

    The  the best EVER was not said TO me, but to someone else ABOUT me...my hubby (back in 1993) had just bought me a brand new set of wedding rings (i had lost the first set, which broke my heart)...a honking big diamond in the engagement ring...and showed it to one of my co-workers before giving it to me.  Joel, the co-worker, asked my hubby, "So, do you think she's worth all that?" (joking, lol), and my dear sweet hubby said, "It's not nearly as big  as it should be..."  Joel told me about that later and i just melted!

  • Coffee, tea, or no caffeine? Why?

    I prefer hot tea with cream & sweetener, but will gladly do coffee if i'm out of Stevia (my sweetener of choice). (For some reason, coffee tastes fine to me with sugar, but i can't stand sugar in my tea--must be stevia! Hmm.)

    I drink these not just for the yumminess factor, but because they are soo good for you, as well! Just check out Prevention magazine, or ask Dr.'s Oz and Roizen--they'll tell ya!  I do, however, refuse to get my daily fix of caffeine through any sort of colas. YUCK. But i MUST....HAVE...CAFFEINE!! I just make sure it's right after i wake up...or i will just go back to bed. LOL!

  • I am a homemaker and a wife to my husband of almost 25 years (second marriage). I have two grown sons...that somehow keep coming back whereever *I* live...lol. I also have three beautiful grandkids that i miss and love dearly. They live in Springfield, Missouri, which is where i LONG to go back to! I was an Air Force brat, and my father fought at Pearl Harbor. My parents met when he was in the AF and my mom was in the WACS...Women's Air Corp. That was before they allowed women in the Air Force. We lived in many states before i grew up and moved to Springfield, which will always be home to me, and i can't wait to move back home. I have one older sister who lives in Springfield, and two nieces, as well, and a LOT of friends there!! :) I am a Christian and not liberal, soooo, you know how i'm voting this year...lol. But i AM ready for a black President...just NOT Obama...and not a Liberal. :)
